MLB 2019 Offseason Breakdown: Baltimore Orioles

Here is my MLB 2019 Offseason Breakdown Blog. This time it is on the Baltimore Orioles and I will talk about who the Orioles acquired and lost, their starting lineup and pitching rotation and my prediction for them this season. Let’s get into the blog.

Offseason Acquisitions and Loses:
Adam Jones signs a 1 year $3 million contract with the Diamondbacks
Franchise player Adam Jones played his last season with the Orioles last year. You should be happy with Jones if you are an O’s fan because he gave you everything he could those years you had him. With the rebuild in full go, it was his time to leave and hope that he has success somewhere else.

Starting Lineup:
C: Chance Sisco
1B: Chris Davis
2B: Jonathan Villar
3B: Renato Nunez
SS: Richie Martin
LF: Trey Mancini
CF: Cedric Mullins
RF: Joey Rickard

Starting Pitching:
1. Dylan Bundy
2. Andrew Cashner
3. Alex Cobb
4. David Hess
5. Yefry Ramirez

Offseason Grade: D

So the Orioles are doing nothing this season and won’t be doing anything in the near future. they are going to finish the season dead last in the AL East and the MLB. The downfall this team has is really something when you think about it. They were making the playoffs every other season from 2012-2016, and are now the worst team in the MLB.

The only thing you have to look forward to is how players like Trey Mancini or Chance Sisco develop this season. Trey Mancini had a pretty bad sophomore slump last season after being a rookie of the year contender. If he can get his numbers around .275, 30, 90 that will be a successful season for him and the team. Also, Sisco got a lot more opportunities last season, but I feel like he will be able to turn that around this season.
