2019 MLB Offseason Breakdown: Minnesota Twins

Here is my MLB 2019 Offseason Breakdown Blog. This time it is on the Milwaukee Brewers and I will talk about who the Brewers acquired and lost, their starting lineup and pitching rotation and my prediction for them this season. Let’s get into the blog.

Offseason Acquisitions and Loses:
Marwin Gonzalez signs a 2 year $21 million contract
Twins get former World Series champ Gonzalez and its a good signing for them. Gonzalez was able to finish the season last year with 16 home runs and 68 RBI’s and Gonzalez is a good player to have because he can play a variety of positions. But a problem the Twins have to face is, where is he going to play when Miguel Sano returns from injury.
Nelson Cruz signs a 1 year $14.3 million contract
Another good signing as the Twins get one of the better power hitters in the MLB. Cruz had 37 home runs and 97 RBI’s last year with the Mariners. Cruz will obviously be the DH for the team as he hasn’t played more than 10 games in the outfield in the last 2 seasons.

Starting Lineup:
C: Jason Castro
1B: C.J. Cron
2B: Jonathan Schoop
3B: Marwin Gonzalez
SS: Jorge Polanco
LF: Eddie Rosario
CF: Byron Buxton
RF: Max Kepler
DH: Nelson Cruz

Starting Rotation:
1. Jose Berrios
2. Kyle Gibson
3. Michael Pineda
4. Jake Odorizzi
5. Martin Perez

Offseason Grade: B+

Sorry if I offend you with this, but I haven’t been paying much attention to the Twins this offseason. I’m sorry I’ll step up next year, but the Twins made some nice moves. Signing Gonzalez and Cruz are good moves because at least it shows they are trying this season. The only problem is the Indians are in this division and they will make the Twins miss the playoffs as they will finish 2nd in the AL Central.
